The graduate level programs provide advanced training and education for students and professionals seeking careers in the biotechnology industry or biodefense, as well as more traditional careers in teaching or biomedical research for government agencies and private industry.
Master's degree programs allow flexibility to specialize within specific concentrations, or to develop a plan of study in the General biology concentration tailored to a specific research or career interest.
Doctoral degree programs focus on microbiology and infectious diseases, molecular biology and biotechnology, or developing computational models for industry and health fields.
The Accelerated Master's program is for students currently enrolled in the Bachelor's program in biology at Mason who have completed a minimum of 75 credits with a 3.2 GPA and are interested in pursuing a Master's degree. See the tab at left for more information about this program.
